White & Case: Digital annual review
Overview
Since 2008, White & Case has been dedicated to producing an Annual Review of their year’s forward movement to share with clients, prospects, and employees. Their recent client work placed them at the center of global trends related to energy transition, environmental, ESG issues, finance, and globalization. They contributed to the dialogue on these issues with published insights throughout the year on whitecase.com, thought leadership brochures, and the creation of this digital
annual review.
The Challenge
Craft captivating narratives and seamlessly integrate impactful visuals to convey the year's achievements effectively. The mission demanded the creation of a user-friendly digital review easily accessible on the firm's website. Additionally, the team faced the challenge of distinguishing the aesthetic of this year's review from previous iterations while ensuring visual cohesion with the firm's Global Citizenship Review, a related report.
Execution
Designers, writers, and developers joined forces in a collaborative effort to craft an aesthetically pleasing, responsive, and engaging digital report. Their endeavor involved skillfully integrating the company's visual identity while infusing this project with a distinctive character of its own.
At first glance, the landing page looks to be an aerial view of a body of water, but in actuality, it is a bespoke creation by Roman De Giuli, who is an experimental filmmaker and fluid artist from Germany. His compositions consist of fluids, powders, and colors that are applied to paper to create vivid, three-dimensional scenes. He captures these fluids in motion with an 8K cinema camera and macro lens.
Launch and Promotion
The digital annual review was launched in tandem with the global citizenship review on the company's website, accompanied by a comprehensive communication plan that included email announcements to the partnership and clients, social media posts, a table tent in client-facing lobbies and conference rooms, and presentations at internal meetings.
